Healthy soil, healthy plants, healthy people
Our founder, Mario Roque writes…
In December 2015, I was inspired to start a nutrient dense organic operation. On a 64-acre property in Binbrook that I have owned for 43 years. I began my dream of growing nutrient-dense fruits, vegetables and herbs. In 2016, a one-acre vegetable garden was started, along with a few hundred fruit trees planted using the “blueprint method.” Plans for a greenhouse operation as well as a new barn with store facilities have been drawn up, with the intent of having products available year-round.
The vision continued in 2017, with the expansion of the garden and orchard as well as beautification of the property which includes the addition of shrubs, flowers, trails, and picnic areas. Cooking classes, education on home gardens, and other activities are planned as well, to transform the property into a tourist farm destination. Further, a future major project will take place with the aim of creating a facility where professionals, such as doctors, nutritionists, educators and therapists, will educate and attend to the needs of those who desire a better and healthier way of life.
I believe that the best path to health is through a lifestyle that prevents illness in the first place. When illness occurs, there are alternative methods of healing which can support and complement what our present medical system offers. Of course, I believe we are fortunate in having state of the art medical training and Hospitals here, and the role of those facilities cannot be underestimated. I have traveled around the world, and I believe we are truly blessed with our existing medical system. That said, I cannot believe that it stands alone as the only system that can prevent disease and assist in its management and cure.
